Nino de Gleria

Nino de Gleria, bass, double bass, cello

He is a double bass player, electric bass player, an arranger and producer, whose middle age life motto is living and creating according to the independent, craft/creative production ‘music arboretum – rainbow of wonderful harmolduries (minor-major-harmonies)’, this is being manifested in the Society of Relatively Extreme Creators (SREC or DREK, which in Slovenian translates as ‘shit’). He plays in Štefbet Rifi, Fake Orchestra and Brina. He is the author of the first album of Godalika / Time 2 Start, as well as of the music in numerous movies and theatre and puppet shows.
In his mature phase he joined the legendary ethno jazz group Begnagrad (which is part of the first phase of the Rock in Opposition) and the group Quatebriga, whose creativity was the forerunner of world music. This band made one of the earliest directed video clips in former Yugoslavia.

In some of the music spheres he is known for his unconventional bass lines and for ingenious and original music concepts that are full of sarcasm and buffoonery.
